Timmer was last seasons winner of the Rookie of the year. In his first season as an Anchor he made valuable use of his limited ABs off the bench and clawed his way into a starting OF spot. Timmer committed only 1 error in the outfield for the Anchors in 2023 and had a first year batting average of .313. “He came along way as a ballplayer in just one year and he knows its because of his work ethic, to me that’s exciting for the future” McInnis said. Drew will likely come in to spring training battling for a starting spot in the outfield and DH spot. “ He is 19 so if he comes up a little short on opening day for a starting spot its not a big deal his time will come. He forced our hand last year and pushed his way into the lineup and I see no reason why that cant continue” Added McInnis
