We asked Manager Aaron McInnis the following questions:

What were your thoughts on the 2023 campaign?

Aaron responded "Honestly, I could sit here and pick out a bunch of positives to focus on, but I'd rather tell you that as a group we will be leaving our last place finish behind us and pushing forward”.

What positives would you focus on from the 2023 season?

I think this squad will benefit from a fresh start, the things we did well last year were the things that we worked on. I think the process is the most important part and if we focus on that and keep working hard then we will be able to have earned success, in any and all parts of the game really.

What players do you expect to have good a season for the Anchors?

All 25, every guy on this squad is capable of doing their job, but the players that will have the biggest impact this season will be the players that work the hardest.

What do you do as a Manager to get ready for the season?

We have got together as a staff and had discussions about what we want our spring training sessions to look like, for us it starts with little tasks like that but using the opportunity to build our work ethic. This is a hardworking coaching staff and I think its important we stay that way to lead by example.  To be perfectly honest I think we got started a little to late and a little to lax in 2023 coming off a championship season and I think it showed with our last place finish. The players followed our lead into the basement and we need to work harder and be better for them this season.

Any changes to your roster this season?

We have parted ways with Luis Rodriguez after 4 seasons, additionally we are very close to signing Mark Suntz a Thorold native. Suntz would be a good addition to this bullpen, on top of adding Suntz to the bullpen it looks like Kyle D’Angela and Dalton Procyshyn will be added to the back end of the bullpen setting us up with one of the best bullpens in the NDBA.
